Smoked salmon hummus canapés are easy to make with only four delicious ingredients. With store-bought hummus, these can be assembled in just a few minutes. Plan on 1 to 3 per person, depending on what else you are serving.
Active time: 5 minutes Total time: 5 minutes
One-butt kitchen needs:
- Nothing special for this one
Serves 2 to 4 (plan 1 to 3 canapés per person)
Ingredients
- Smoked salmon (Honey Smoked Salmon is my favorite)
- Campari tomatoes, sliced
- Hummus
- Crackers (Mary’s Gone Crackers works great with this recipe)
Directions
Start with a cracker. Mary’s Gone Crackers Originals, which are made with brown rice, quinoa, flax seeds and sesame seeds, make a good base. If you don’t need a gluten free cracker, something like Triscuits or Wheat Thins would also work well.
Spread hummus on top of the crackers. Use your favorite store-bought hummus, unless you want to make your own.
Top the hummus with a slice of Campari tomatoes. They are also sold as tomatoes-on-the-vine. Not only are they tasty, they are the perfect size to fit on the cracker. You can get about three slices from each tomato (without using the top or bottom slices).
A pinch or two of Honey Smoked Salmon completes the canapé.
Love these easy apps! A variation is substitute the cracker for a thick cucumber slice. But watch out-it could be slippery!
I love the idea of using a cucumber instead of a cracker!
This tastes great, and it’s SOOOOOO easy!!
